While the details are yet to be released in detail, Google have posted the following on their blog:
“Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimized for their devices.”
So – is your site mobile ready?
Google has provided a testing site for you to gauge the mobile-friendliness of your website. Simply input your URL and Google will run an analysis. If all goes well, you should get a screen that looks like this:
